Golf Academy - Junior Golf Programs 2010
GLEN EAGLE GOLF CLUB HOPS ON BOARD TO HOST NEW CN FUTURE LINKS JUNIOR GOLF PROGRAM AS PART OF OUR JUNIOR GOLF CAMPS
—Initiatives to grant juniors greater access, awareness and interest in game—
We are proud to provide young boys and girls in Bolton & surrounding area the opportunity to learn and develop their golf skills by hosting various CN Future Links Golf Programs throughout the 2010 golf season.
Learn to Play (as part of our weekly Junior Golf Camp) is a new seven-level development program designed to teach and assess CN Future Links participants’ golfing progression through seven detailed levels and with the use of a new online report-card system.
Junior Skills Challenge (specific dates to be advised) is a re-designed program that enables participants to compete against their peers in putting, chipping, iron play and driving skills challenges. Golf instructors will be able to upload their participants’ final skills challenge scores into an online scoreboard, while participants will be able to upload practice scores into an interactive practice scorecard.
Junior Golf League (from May to September) is an organized league for young golfers who have developed the necessary golf skills to play on a course. The league will now include an online feature that will allow golf league instructors to upload league scores and will allow participants to track their stats and schedule.
“It is our goal that conducting CN Future Links programs will not only introduce children to the game, but will make it more affordable, accessible and give kids a chance to learn the game in a high energy, fun-filled environment,” said Bruce Forbes, Head Teaching Professional at Glen Eagle. “The CN Future Links program is essential if golf is going to continue to grow and attract young players at the grass roots level.”
“It is through the generosity of club’s like Glen Eagle, that have helped introduce more than 748,000 young boys and girls to the game since the inception of Future Links in 1996,” says Scott Simmons, RCGA executive director. “We look forward to watching the program expand and seeing the development of our participants through their junior golf years.”
All participants in Glen Eagle Junior Golf Programs will become a member of CN Future Links at no charge
